Raising Emotionally Intelligent, Resilient and Compassionate Children … with Compassionate Communication

In virtual (Zoom) conversation with Leena Savolainen (Registered CNVC Candidate, Counsellor, Montessori Early Childhood Specialist and Parenting Coach) and Certified Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Trainer Filippa Araki. Tuesday evening 14th August 2021.

September 14, 2021 @ 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm AEST

Who is this webinar for?

Anyone who is keen to be part of raising emotionally intelligent, resilient and compassionate children. This includes parents, teachers, child care workers, NVC candidate and trainers, guidance counsellors, health workers, social workers and more.

Our Focus

After a brief exploration of the kind of adults we want our children to become, we will focus on how Nonviolent Communication can contribute to each of the themes below. Taking the themes one by one, Leena and Filippa will share strategies they have found useful in building greater self connection and presence with their children. They will then illustrate these from their own parenting stories. Theme by them we will open the discussion to the group, to harvest shared and specific learning.

The focus of our conversation will include: How do I …

  • raise emotionally intelligent children?
  • equip my children to cope with an uncertain world?
  • get my child to cooperate without forcing them?
  • deal with my child’s big feelings?
  • engage with my child’s tantrums?
  • cultivate kindness & compassion in my children?
  • take care of myself in the process of all this?

At the end of our webinar, we would love people to feel inspired & empowered and have a strong sense of hope and possibility that we can create a more peaceful and compassionate world through transforming the way we relate to our children.

We’d love you to be aware that (as those involved in raising children) we bring ourselves to this webinar as “a work in progress”. For us effective child raising is as much (and more) about our own self-connection and being the person we want our children to be as it is about a list of “things to do” to be an effective parent. This will be the core emphasis of our time together.

While we will ensure you leave the webinar with specific strategies you can apply, and resources you can chase up, our primary aim is to see you leaving this webinar with a fresh sense of presence – with yourself and your children.
